Finalized Surrealism Composition

Completed a surrealism project, using two images of mine one in the dark with a lamp post another in   with the beach sunset. Combined them using only Photoshop.

Going out in the hunt for possible surrealism images

Went out taking various pictures around L.A. From the mountains to the beach. Here are a few shots of  mine. 

Surrealism

Been assigned to compose a surrealism composition manipulating it then after with Photoshop. Began searching for a few examples of surrealism from some artist. A great example is Eugene Soloviev 21 year-old from Russia a self-taught photo manipulator. Here are a few examples of his incredible work.

Zombie Boy

My Final Character completed. Zombie boy in New York. Constructed using Illustrator and a little of Photoshop. 

Character in Design process

                 

Starting out drawing some ideas for Zombie boy character. 

Planning to make him small, gothic looking miniature boy.

Using few colors ranging from darks to grays maintaining him simple.

Using more the element of line to define him.

Thought of creating a character out of Rick Genest. A known male for his modeling, film acting, and most of all body art as he refers to it "about the human body as a decomposing corpse".

Defining the differences between Appropriation & plagiarism

The difference among both are Appropriation is more understood as the use of a borrowed elements in the creation of a new work. Meaning a person may get their ideas, concepts from another artist work utilizing it to then form his or her own different works. In contrast to this plagiarism would be known as the kind of wrong appropriation meaning close imitation to another authors language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions and the representation of them as one's own original work.

Artist a Day

 Artist Jim Kazanjian from http://artistaday.com/ i choose as one of my favorite artist. Having looked at two images of work of art in photography he did i notice his talent. His style and with the intent is to compose a photography with a few unusual elements being set together. With the idea of creating a kind of "entropic image" as he refers to it. Creating an effect of defamiliarizing the image with the purpose of  playing with the elements of time and space in the composition. In end Jim's odd sense of style in his purposely intent in creating an image to become   an "entropic"at the same time that it confuses one is what interest me in his work.

     

A bit about me

Im a college student in my second year at El Co. Pursuing Advertising as my potential major. My interests expand on Advertising, Entrepreneurship, Business, Graphic Design, Fashion, Photography.
My purpose in this Digital Art 141 class is to gain skills on using photoshop and illustrator with an inquisitiveness in the manipulation of photography.
